Dr. Anthony Redmond is a licensed master clinical social worker (LMSW) and psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Redford and Southfield, MI.

With over thirteen years experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a graduate of Wayne State University specializing in cognitive behavior therapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among his areas of expertise are: autism spectrum disorder, children/adolescent behavioral disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, bi-polar disorder, women issues, work related stress, depression and anxiety disorder.

In addition to being a prominent relationship therapist, Anthony has presented at National conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder and children behavioral disorder.

Dr. Don Smith is a board-certified adult and child psychiatrist specializing in the true integration of psychopharmacology with psychotherapy. He believes in active collaboration with patients to achieve treatment goals, while reducing the need for psychotropic medication when appropriate. He encourages patients, within an empathic and supportive environment, to gain a better understanding of themselves in order to facilitate positive change.

Dr. Smith has always been interested in how the physical affects the mental and vice versa. Staying true to that notion he obtained a Bachelor’s of science degree in both psychology and biology from the State University of New York At Binghamton. At Michigan State’s College of Human Medicine where they used the biopsychosocial model is where he received his Medical Degree. His medical school training fostered a desire to be an advocate for children’s health which led him to completing a general pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, after which he continued interest in the mental health of children, and more specifically how environmental as well as biological (genetic) factors impact the mental health of children led him to sub-specialized training at Sheppard Pratt University of Maryland where he completed his adult and child psychiatry training.

Dr. Smith entered private practice in 2003, with a focus on providing psychoanalytically oriented, cognitive-behavioral, and supportive psychotherapy in combination with medication management. Dr. Smith is experienced in the treatment of a variety of psychiatric conditions with children and adults, including mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, adjustment reactions, psychotic disorders children behavioral disorders, and the care of psychiatric conditions in those with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. In addition to providing individual psychotherapy combined with medication management, Dr. Smith offers coordinated medication management for patients who see another provider for therapy.

Dr. Umeika Stephens is a dual certified family and psychiatric nurse practitioner focused on the provision of holistic patient centered mental health care. As a Detroit native she is acutely aware healthcare needs in the community and the disparities impact patient’s access to culturally sensitive services.

Dr. Stephens has worked as a nurse practitioner for over 17 years providing for psychopharmacologic management and supportive therapy. Her areas of expertise are integrated care, substance abuse, mental health issues secondary to chronic medical illness, caregiver role stress/ coping, and women’s mental health issues. Dr. Stephens is also a clinical assistant professor at Wayne State University where she oversees the psychiatric nurse practitioner program.

Natalie Poole is clinically astute with expertise in the nursing field for 23 years. She is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who has a special interest in improving patient access to mental health care. Taylor Garland graduated from the University of Michigan (U of M) Ann Arbor in April 2016. She received her B.A. in Psychology with Honors and completed minors in Community Action & Social Change and Program in Entrepreneurship. She is particularly interested in clinical psychology with an emphasis on the changes and unexpected challenges that individuals endure within a lifetime.

She also has an interest in the adolescent stage of development and how an individual’s environment influences their developmental trajectory. She would like to explore mood disorders more closely in ethnic minority communities and ways that their environment has impacted their lives and resilience.

Taylor has past experience volunteering on a Child Team through the M-Span program at U of M, with an ongoing research study titled Strong Military Families. She has experience as research assistant for a total of three Psychology labs at U of M and is currently working on publishing a group paper and her honors thesis. Taylor is our new case manager/administrative assistant at our Redford location. She is currently applying to Child Clinical Psychology PhD programs with hopes of starting in Fall 2017. She aspires to become a Clinical Psychologist and a distinguished scholar.


Shanna Jackson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in providing services to adults, children and families. She has significant experience working with adults diagnosed with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and children with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) as well as neglected, abused, and delinquent children and youth.

She has worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and anger management. She has also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse/trauma. Her counseling approach is person-centered focusing on the needs and wants of the individual in order to assist clients in the process of reaching success. She also uses a holistic approach and understands that what we experience can affect physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs.

Tia Morgan received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and her Master of Social Work with a Concentration of Psychodynamics from Wayne State University. She has experience in working with adults and adolescents with dual diagnosis and individuals diagnosed with a mental illness.

Tia has also worked with abused and neglected children from various backgrounds as well as provided home-based therapeutic services to impoverished families. She has experience working in an Emergency Room Crisis Center.

She was previously a part of a committee which created and implemented the Dialectical Behavioral Training (DBT) principals for transitional housing for young adults who had been diagnosed with a mental illness.

Teresa Chahine received her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing from Wayne State University in Detroit. She is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 30 years experience in the mental health field, including working in inpatient, outpatient and crisis psychiatric facilities. Teresa applies resilience, narrative and creative therapy as treatment modalities.

Teresa treats a broad age range from late adolescence through adulthood. She is skilled in elder neurocognitive disorders. She is well versed in working with clients with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, academic problems, social relationships, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and addictions. Teresa has 25 years of experience in diagnostics and crisis treatment. Dr. Larissa Barclay is doctoral prepared and nationally certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Oakland University, post-master certification at Wayne State University as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-master certification from the University of Michigan.?

Dr. Barclay has over 25 years of clinical experience. She had a small Michigan-based private practice and also provided consultation services to residential group homes. She has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care, long-term care, wound care, outpatient behavioral and mental health, partial psychiatric hospitalization, and in the inpatient psychiatric hospital setting.

Dr. Barclay has a rich nursing education background and has taught adult medical surgical, FNP, PMHNP courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, online and in the traditional classroom setting; and has served as the Dean of Nursing in an Associate Degree Nursing program and Program Director in a Licensed Practical Nursing program. Dr. Barclay is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toledo College of Nursing where she developed the curriculum for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program and also serves as the Track Coordinator for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Her research interests lie in nursing education learning outcomes and evidence-based practice initiatives to promote improving patient care.


Kyle Hill graduated from Western Michigan University in April 2016. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice and earned his minor in Sociology. Kyle graduated from Wayne State University in April 2020, receiving his Master of Social Work with a Concentration in Innovation in Community, Policy, and Leadership. He has experience in both clinical and macro social work. Kyle has worked with various populations such as children and adolescents with Autism spectrum disorder, individuals diagnosed with mental illness, juvenile offenders, and adult offenders, and substance use disorder. He has experience analyzing data and identifying ways to implement professional development needs, and program effectiveness improvements within the nonprofit and for-profit sectors. Kyle also has a background in evaluation testing procedures to meet the specific needs within an agency for families in need of mental health services.

Kyle has worked with clients with a broad scope of issues that stem from multiple factors such as anxiety disorders, depression, and bipolar disorder. He has achieved client success by developing person-centered plans that come from a strength-based perspective. Dr. Anita Manns, RN, DNP, MSN, MBA, ANP-C, PMHNP-BC, CCHP is a dual certified Adult Nurse Practitioner and Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. Dr. Manns obtained her Master's in Science in Nursing, with a focus in Adult Primary Care, in 2008 from Wayne State University. She also has earned her Doctorate Degree in Nursing/Clinical Practice from Oakland University, and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner post-master certification from the University of Michigan.

She has over 23 years of clinical practice experience which includes patient care management in the Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Trauma, and Geriatrics. She has worked as a nurse practitioner in Primary Care - Women's Health where her focus was on treating depression, schizophrenia, and the physical and emotional needs of the LGBTQI community. Other specialty focuses include Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Correctional Health Care, and Mental Health.

She serves as a contributing faculty in the College of Health Sciences and Nursing at Walden University since 2009 and also serves as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Public Health Commissioning Corps as a Program Manager within the state of Michigan.
